Biography

Among the leading rockers within the LA Hispanic community following the tragic loss of life of Ritchie Valens, Chris Montez afterwards mellowed out beneath the tutelage of Supplement Alpert and tallied several MOR-style strikes. His initial smash was on Monogram in 1962, “Let’s Dance.” It had been a milling rocker with roller-rink body organ. Montez transformed his attitude after putting your signature on with A&M. With Alpert making, Montez followed an easygoing approach on “Contact Me,” “THE GREATER I Find You,” and “TIME UPON TIME,” all solid retailers in 1966. The formulation quickly faded, nevertheless, and his last chart entry emerged the following calendar year with “Due to You.”
