Chris Foster

b. 23 Apr 1948, Yeovil, Somerset, Britain. A vocalist and guitarist, Foster 1st started playing in public areas in 1964 at regional folk night clubs. His influences at that time ranged from Cyril Tawney, to Davey Graham, ‘Big’ Expenses Broonzy and Louis Killen. Foster included both traditional and modern materials in his live shows. While still at university, he performed support around the 1971 Rev. Gary Davis tour of the united kingdom. The following 12 months, he left artwork school, and proceeded to go into music inside a full-time capability, until the middle-80s. Layers presented the fiddle of Nic Jones, while EVERYTHING IN KEEPING included the very much covered Expenses Caddick track ‘Unicorns’. Fylde Acoustic was therefore named because all of the performers (including Gordon Giltrap and Martin Carthy) carrying out on the recording played Fylde devices. After going through moderate success around the folk circuit, but sense he was obtaining nowhere, Foster bowed from the picture and, aside from periodic bookings, did small musically for 3 years. In the past due 80s Foster started playing bass inside a blues music group, and, in 1991, began playing in folk night clubs again. He came back to documenting with 1999’s Traces. Levels and EVERYTHING In Common, had been reissued in 2002 on japan Vivid label.
