An entrepreneur not only is it an exceedingly multi-faceted musician, Christopher Cortez moved to Fresh Orleans in 1996 and founded his personal music label, Blue Bamboo Music. Reflecting many areas of the music market, his label’s primary motivation is aimed at developing a musician’s cooperative for impartial artists who want worldwide distribution without the most common conventional recording agreement. Cortez can be an artist who would like to control his personal artistic vision also to provide same possibility to additional exceptional music artists. Territorial Essential, Cortez’s first Compact disc, drew rave testimonials while playing thoroughly in the U.S. r / c. After Ramsey Lewis highlighted it on his syndicated radio applications, theVital Recordslabel in European countries also released it. For his second Compact disc in 1999, the award-winning Talamasca, the versatile Cortez, playing electric guitar (acoustic and electrical), keyboards, percussion and bass, merged components of his moves and life encounters using the spice of Latin and southern jazz, and also a display of post bop as well as the more contemporary designs. Joining Cortez upon this Compact disc had been Chuck Arnold (trumpet), Troy Jones and Noah Shaye (drum), Rick Dior and Michael Skincus (percussion), Danny Infante and Matt Perrine (bass), Joe Raines (keyboards, trombone), and John Touchy (trombone). Cortez’s 12th monitor on Talamasca, “Different Strokes”, received Jazziz Magazine’s “Guitars BURNING” competition in 1996 and was presented within the Compact disc which showcased the winners. Keep It THERE, Cortez’s third Compact disc, released in Sept, 2003, again displays the flexibility that originates from his caring all varieties of music, as well as the power that originates from regularly opening for most of the fantastic titles in jazz, including Kilometers Davis, Herbie Mann, Spider Martin, Nat Adderly, Stanley Turrentine, and Ira Sullivan.
