Chris & Carla

Chris & Carla are an offshoot from the Seattle folk-punk device the Walkabouts, featuring the band’s singer/songwriters Chris Eckman and Carla Torgerson. An acoustic, folk-based task, the Chris & Carla duo debuted in 1993 with Shelter for an Evening, a live collection documented in Germany. 2 yrs later, the set resurfaced with Existence Full of Openings, a studio room LP cut with R.E.M.’s Peter Buck and people of Britain’s Tindersticks. Evenings Between Channels, another live work — that one documented in Greece — adopted later on in 1995. Swinger 500, including looks by other people from the Walkabouts in addition to Camper Vehicle Beethoven’s David Immerglück as well as the Poor Livers’ Danny Barnes, premiered in 1998, accompanied by another live work, Ljubljana, issued the next year. While keeping their involvement using the Walkabouts, Eckman and Torgerson continuing their occasional produces of Chris & Carla duo albums in to the fresh millennium, including 2001’s Arrive as YOU ARE NOT and 2007’s Soar High Daring Dreamers.
