Chris Abrahams

Among Australia’s premier music artists, Chris Abrahams offers appeared using the Benders, the Sparklers, Peter Blakeley, the Necks, Jackie Orszaczky, and Ed Kuepper and it is widely recognized as you of Australia’s best key pad players. Abrahams 1st public appearance was included with well-known jazz clothing the Benders who released three albums: E (1983), Fake Laughter (1984), and Range (1985). A single album, Piano, adopted in 1985 along with the dance-pop take action, the Sparklers, where Abrahams made an appearance on two singles, “Overworking” (Oct 1986) and “FREQUENTLY Thinking” (January 1987), before departing to be changed by Phil Grove. During this time period Abrahams also worked well as a program player, showing up on albums by Laughing Clowns, the Triffids, Ed Kuepper, the Lime Spiders, and Stephen Cummings. He also made an appearance on two soundtracks released in 1986: Illusion and Dance Daze. Another single outing, Walk, premiered in 1987. In 1989 Abrahams became a member of former Sparklers vocalist Melanie Oxley plus they released an EP, Resisting Quiet, in addition to two soul-pop albums: Thanks for visiting Violet and Coal. In 1990 Abrahams was voted Greatest Keyboard Participant in Rolling Rock publication. In 1993, he offered as Midnight Oil’s keyboardist on the Earth, Sunlight, and Moon globe tour. Abrahams also used the Necks through the entire ’90s plus they released many jazz albums on numerous brands including Sex (1990), Following (1991), Aquatic (1994), and Silent Night time (1997).
