China

This melodic rock-band was formed in Switzerland during 1987 by guitarists Freddy Laurence and Claudio Matteo. Recruiting Mathematics Shiverow (business lead vocals), Marc Lynn (bass) and John Dommen (drums), they authorized with Phonogram the next year. Affected by Thin Lizzy, European countries and Scorpions, their self-titled debut made an appearance in 1988 to an optimistic media response. It had been seen as a Shiverow’s high-pitched but note-perfect vocals as well as the dual acoustic guitar assault of Matteo and Laurence. REGISTER The Sky found ex-Krokus guitarist Patrick Mason dominate on vocals, and Brian Kofmehl replace Lynn on bass. It had been a more adult album in a number of respects, using the songwriting showing higher depth and a complete, crisp production, thanks to Stephan Galfas. A live mini-album adopted, but China didn’t receive the reputation that their skills deserved.
