Chikinki

Bristol, England-based music group formed in 1997 by Rupert Browne (vocals), Ed East (acoustic guitar), Steve Relationship (drums), Boris Exton (keyboards) and Trevor Wensley (keyboards). Establishing base in a residence in the town’s Bedminster area, the quintet started a prolific amount of composing and documenting material that shown the users’ diverse musical passions. Chikinki’s experimental combination of indie pop and electronica was noticed to immediate influence on calling Heroes EP, released individually in summer time 2000. The neighborhood Sink And Range label after that released the quintet’s TEST OUT Mom, in 2001. The compliment for this record in the united kingdom music press prompted the eye of several main labels, with Isle Records eventually picking right up the music group the following season. The dual a-side ‘Period’/‘Scissors, Paper, Rock’ appeared in the indie Fierce Panda label in March 2003 before the music group producing their debut for Isle using the menacing one ‘Hate Television’. Regardless of the existence of ‘Hate Television’ and two further exceptional singles, ‘Assassinator 13’ and ‘Consider It Or Keep It’, the attendant Lick Your Solution was seen as something of the disappointment when it had been released.
