Chevy

A UK rock and roll quintet located in Leamington Health spa, Chevy formed in 1980 around a nucleus of Martin Treat (vocals), Steve Walwyn (business lead electric guitar, vocals), Paul Shanahan (electric guitar, vocals), Bob Poole (bass, vocals) and Chas Chaplin (drums). Their preliminary reputation was gained at early support slot machine games to Alvin Lee and Hawkwind, before they produced their documenting debut using a self-titled monitor on the Steel For Muthas 2 compilation. This is accompanied by their debut one, ‘Too Very much Loving’, and a debut record for Avatar Information. The Taker drew on regional influences such as for example Position Quo but mainly relied on the distillation of Americanised rock and roll themes. This demonstrated well-known neither with critics nor viewers, and their initial recording was also to become their last.
