Biography

Known on her behalf comic aswell emotionally intense tracks, folk singer/songwriter Cheryl Wheeler grew up in Timonium, Maryland, and started playing your guitar and ukulele as a kid. She initial performed appropriately at an area restaurant, but shortly graduated to night clubs within the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., areas. In 1976, she shifted to Rhode Isle, where she became a protégé of country-folk vocalist/songwriter Jonathan Edwards, for whom she primarily offered as bass participant. Her first documenting, a four-song EP known as Newport Songs, premiered in 1983. Edwards created her initial full-length record, Cheryl Wheeler, released on North Superstar Information in 1986. Among the songs for the record, “Addicted,” was included in Dan Seals and became lots one country strike in Sept 1988. North Superstar certified her second record, Half a Reserve (1988), towards the short-lived Cypress imprint of A&M Details. She then agreed upon to the Nashville department of Capitol Information and released Circles & Arrows in 1990; Suzy Bogguss’ cover of “Aces” from that record was a high Ten country strike in 1992. (Subsequently, her tracks were included in Bette Midler, Juice Newton, Maura O’Connell, Linda Thompson, among others.) In 1993, Wheeler shifted to the Philo imprint from the 3rd party Rounder label on her behalf fourth record, Driving House (Rounder reissued Circles & Arrows in 1994). She implemented it with Mrs. Pinocci’s Electric guitar (1995) and Sylvia Resort (1999).
