Cherry Glazerr

The off-kilter noise pop sound of L.A. quartet Cherry Glazerr was created in 2012 when senior high school pupil and vocalist/songwriter Clementine Creevy started recording music in her bedroom beneath the name Clembutt. After obtaining some early help from Lucy Miyaki of L.A. music group Tashaki Miyaki, Creevy produced a group composed of drummer Hannah Uribe and vocalist Sophia Muller to assist in getting her songs alive. After adding bassist Sean Redman towards the lineup, the quartet produced a demonstration tape that captured the hearing of Burger Information. The recently christened Cherry Glazerr (using a name extracted from regional NPR radio reporter Cherry Glaser) released the nine-song cassette, Papa Cremp, in early 2013 and began playing displays, including 2013’s Burgerama Celebration, where they obtained a enthusiast in Yves Saint Laurent’s innovative movie director Hedi Slimane. He asked Cherry Glazerr to try out a present in Paris, and their melody “Halloween Dancefloor” was found in the company’s advertisement marketing campaign. The foursome documented their first recording, Haxel Princess, for Burger, but Muller remaining prior to the album’s launch in January of 2014. Uribe also remaining the group, departing Creevy to restore and revamp. Tabor Allen became a member of through to drums and Sasami Ashworth on synths, as well as the music group began focusing on a new recording. Teaming with makers Joe Chiccarelli, whose lengthy career included focus on albums from the White colored Stripes as well as the Strokes, and Carlos de la Garza, the band’s scruffy garage area punk audio skipped ahead towards the grungy ’90s and added a coating of studio room sheen while still keeping Creevy’s unique perspective. Combined with the fresh lineup, minus Redman, and audio, the music group jumped to a fresh label, Secretly Canadian, and released Apocalipstick in early 2017.
