Chente Barrera

A indigenous of San Antonio, TX, Chente Barrera began his music profession through the early ’90s like a tejano program staple, financing backing vocals and drums to recordings from artists including Juan Manuel, Laura Canales, Gary Hobbs, and Shelly Lares. After touring with Jay Perez and composing materials for Bobby Pulido, Barrera produced his single debut in 1998 using the recording Puro Taconazo. Barrera released three even more albums on the following eight years. He received many Tejano Music Honours in 2005 for Pedazo de Mi Corazón and snagged a 2007 Latin Grammy nomination for Greatest Tejano Recording for Sigue un Taconazo.
