Chatman’s Mississippi Hot Footers

A loose confederation of music artists in the hill nation of central Mississippi, the Mississippi Hot Footers were fundamentally the same players who performed as the Mississippi Sheiks. Using a floating lineup of Charlie McCoy, Walter Vinson (or Vincson or Vincent, with regards to the documenting), and brothers Sam and Lonnie Chatmon (Lonnie was also called Bo Chatmon or Bo Carter, with regards to the documenting, while the family members name is sometimes spelled as Chatman), the Sizzling hot Footers/Sheiks were an exceptionally versatile dark string music group who made an appearance on countless recordings under several names and in a variety of configurations in the middle- to past due-’30s.
