Chasing Safety

NJ post-hardcore outfit Chasing Basic safety deliver crunchy riffs, melodic wails, and bloody screaming comparable to Beartooth and Inøath. Produced in 2013 by vocalist Johnny Galivan, clean vocalist/bassist Kenny Davis, drummer Luke Genocide, and guitarists Steve Novoa and Derek Williams, the quintet originally performed as Us, from Outdoors before changing their name. They agreed upon with Outerloop Information and reissued their debut EP, THE DEVICE, in early 2014. That same calendar year, they released their first full-length. Period of the Deceased was made by Dan Korneff (Pierce the Veil, the Devil Wears Prada, Motionless in Light, Crown the Empire) and Nick Sampson and highlighted a small number of guests, including Glaciers Nine Kills frontman Spencer Charnas on “Pay attention Obviously.” Novoa parted methods with the music group in 2015, changed by Patrick Hall. The next year, amid touring and documenting a follow-up record, Williams also still left the music group. Reduced to a quartet, Chasing Basic safety released sophomore LP Nomad in 2017 with Korneff and Sampson coming back as producers.
