Charlie & Ray (these were generally known only by their first brands) are most widely known to begin with — these were unabashedly homosexual, this at the same time when it wasn’t broadly publicized what one’s sexual orientation was. In 1955, Charlie & Ray’s initial hit, “I REALLY LIKE You Madly” for Herald Information, triggered something of a sensation, nonetheless it wasn’t until they documented a good up-tempo clarinet-driven rocker, “Dearest One,” that they strike pay dirt once again.
