Aliases and psudeoynms aside, Charlie Hicks AKA Charley or Charlie Lincoln was an above-average nation blues vocalist. He teamed frequently with either his sibling Robert Hicks AKA Barbecue Bob or with Peg-Leg Howell. His acoustic guitar voicings and design were affected by Curley Weaver, but Hicks was a vibrant vocalist and flashy participant. Weaver’s mom Savannah trained Lincoln your guitar as an adolescent. Lincoln recorded along with his sibling for Columbia from 1927-1930; he continuing using him in to the ’50s, though his overall performance and playing routine was highly abnormal. A murder conviction finished his profession in 1955; he was in jail until his loss of life in 1963.
