Charles Dungey

Bassist and occasional singer Charles Dungey was a flexible musician who performed with a number of performers. In the ’60s he could possibly be heard as an associate of saxophonist Hank Crawford’s music group and in the ’70s he performed and documented with J.J. Cale. During his profession he toured with Eartha Kitt, Sammy Davis, Jr., Milt Jackson, Pearl Bailey, Teddy Wilson and a bunch of others. Dungey also proved helpful in the orchestras of both Mike Douglas Present as well as the Nashville Symphony Orchestra.in the ’70s. Afterwards he set up himself as an educator, functioning first on the School of NEW YORK in the 1980’s and Tennessee Condition University or college in the 1990’s. On Sept 22, 2003, Dungey experienced a cerebral hemorrhage and passed away at age 65.
