Chappaquiddick Skyline was the medial side task of singer/songwriter Joe Pernice, previously most widely known for fronting the alt-country music group Scud Mountain Kids in addition to its chamber-pop forerunner the Pernice Brothers. While making his master’s level in creative composing and poetry from your University or college of Massachusetts, Pernice co-founded the Northampton-based Scuds in 1991, making great essential acclaim for the heartbreaking lyrics and beautiful melodies which recognized albums like 1996’s Massachusetts; wanting to move beyond the band’s rustic minimalism, he created the Pernice Brothers with sibling Bob to expand into lushly-orchestrated pop, issuing 1998’s Overcome by Happiness to help expand essential fanfare. Chappaquiddick Skyline surfaced from your Pernice Brothers’ touring lineup and in addition presented bassist Thom Monahan, guitarist Peyton Pinkerton, keyboardist Laura Stein and drummer Mike Belitsky; their outstanding self-titled debut made an appearance on Sub Play early 2000.
