Montreal, Québec indigenous Maxime Morin played electric guitar in steel and punk rings until the middle-’90s, when his curiosity about digital music provoked him to create his own monitors. He created and performed as Le Potential and Mad Potential, co-founded a studio room for jingles and soundtracks and, in 2003, supplied a number of the instrumentation for the Academy Award-nominated film Les Triplettes de Belleville. After that, after changing his name to DJ Champ, he searched for to fuse rock and roll and dance music. His produces included 2005’s Chill’em All (offering the Canadian Best 30 one “No Heaven”), 2006’s The Remix Record, 2007’s Live, and 2009’s Level of resistance.
