Chalkdust

Among calypso’s true intellectuals, Chalkdust (given birth to: Hollis Urban Lester Liverpool) is well known for his hard-hitting, politically tinged lyrics. The record holder for some years like a Country wide Calypso Monarch finalist, he received the exclusive competition in 1976, 1977, and 1981. Chalkdust started writing tunes as students at St. Mary’s University in 1954, composing tunes for the institution soccer team’s intercollegiate fits. He returned to instruct at the institution after graduating from the University or college of the Western Indies, having a bachelor’s level ever sold and sociology, in 1973.
