The London group Central Line were one of the better English soul ensembles of the first ’80s. Vocalist/percussionist Linton Breckles, bassist/vocalist Camelle Hinds, keyboardist Lipson Francis, and guitarist Henry Defoe experienced several moderately successful produces on Mercury, making use of their biggest American strike, “Strolling Into Sunlight,” in 1981.
