Cave In

Alt metal clothing Cave In started in 1995, in Methuen, MA, when Stephen Brodsky and Jay Frechette got the theory to start out a band within the vein of a few of their favorites: Failing, Unwound, Snapcase, etc. With Brodsky on electric guitar and Frechette’s vocals, they added bassist Justin Matthes, guitarist Adam McGrath, and drummer John-Robert Conners, and documented some early demos. Divide 7″s with Gambit, Piebald, and Early Sophistication implemented before Cave In got a opportunity for its own, thanks to Hydra Mind, which made an appearance in 1997. Matthes departed following the Hydra Mind discharge and was changed by Andy Kyte, but he didn’t go longer than an East Coastline tour. Frechette also still left, making area for Dave Scrod, who didn’t last either. Cave In following tapped Caleb Scofield (Hit 3), who exercised as both bass participant and singer. The first singles-comp Beyond Hypotermia made an appearance in 1998, accompanied by the correct full-length Until Your Center Stops as well as the Innovative Eclipses EP. Cave In released the critically acclaimed Jupiter in 2000 before putting your signature on with RCA in 2001 and premiering with 2003’s ambitious Antenna. In 2005, Cave In came back to Hydra Mind for Ideal Pitch Dark; a year afterwards the band verified that it had been taking place an indefinite hiatus (however, not splitting up) as its associates explored various other musical avenues.
