Cato Salsa Experience

Area of the post-Cardigans craze in Scandinavian pop toward a far more rocking, garagey audio, Oslo, Norway’s Cato Salsa Knowledge create a righteously sloppy clatter with a solid hint of psychedelia and sufficient pop smarts to create it function. The group shaped in 2000 when vocalist and guitarist Cato Thomassen, bassist Christian Engfelt, and drummer Jon Magne Riise kept a casual jam program in Thomassen’s kitchen. Adding keyboardist Nina Bjorndalen and acquiring their non-sensical name from a tale someone got scribbled on these kitchen wall structure, the band began gigging around the neighborhood night clubs and released a self-titled 10″ EP. Following the Hives produced the Scandinavian countries popular once again, the American label Emperor Norton agreed upon the Cato Salsa Knowledge, launching their debut record, A Good Suggestion for a great time, in the summertime of 2002.
