Cátia de França

First composer Cátia de França has already established her compositions documented by artists like Elba Ramalho, Chico César and Xangai. As an instrumentalist, she’s caused Sivuca, Zé Ramalho, Amelinha, yet others. She begun to learning music extremely early, at 12 she had been executing piano recitals with parts by Mozart, Bach, and Beethoven on the Teatro Santa Roza. She also researched performing, theory, and solfeggio, and was a choir member. With lyrics by Diógenes Brayner, she participated in her initial popular music celebration being a songwriter. In 1967, she became a specialist composer, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist. She implemented a Western european tour using the folkloric band of the Manoel Bandeira Base. Time for Brazil, she shifted to Rio de Janeiro and caused other Northeastern performers like Zé Ramalho, Amelinha, and Sivuca. In 1970, she documented, for the very first time, a dual one with four tracks which earned a music celebration in that season. In 1997, she released her first Compact disc Avatar, with partnerships using the renowned poet Manoel de Barros.
