Cathy Lesurf

b. London, Britain. Lesurf was an associate from the Kent-based Fiddler’s Dram as well as the vocalist on the 1979 folk-flavoured strike, ‘Daytrip To Bangor’. Using the music group she documented To START TO SEE THE Play (1978) and Fiddler’s Dram (1980). Various other associates comprised Alan Prosser, Chris Taylor and Ian Telfer. Lesurf after that joined up with Oyster Ceilidh Music group (afterwards Oysterband), sang on the initial two albums, Jack port‘s Alive (1980) and British Rock ‘N’ Move – THE FIRST Years 1800-1850 (1982), and proved helpful as their ‘caller’ at dances. In the first 80s she joined up with the Albion Music group and in 1985 transferred to Fairport Convention for Gladys Step (1985). Therefore, her solo record contained many popular electric folk music artists. Within the 90s, Lesurf focused on writing has for the theater. Within the 00s she was organiser for the annual Globe In One State celebration in Nottinghamshire.
