Cascarita

Inspired from the pre-World Battle II golf swing jazz and leap blues of THE UNITED STATES, Cascarita (given birth to Orlando Guerra) utilized his powerful vocals to go up to the top echelon of Cuban music. Although he performed with such stellar Cuban performers as Julio Cueva and Orquesta Hermanos Palau, Cascarita is usually best-remembered for his use Orquesta Gambling establishment de la Playa, which he became a member of as an alternative for Miguelito Valdés in 1940. Cascarita produced his best contribution to Cuban music when he suggested Pérez Prado because the group’s arranger.
