Carolyn Fok

Award-winning multimedia designer Carolyn Fok builds textured electronic music that’s experimental even though remaining deeply personal using a range of analog and digital tools. Born Apr 3, 1966, Fok started composing and illustrating her personal books at age group five. When she was nine years of age, Fok found out a drum machine constructed by her dad and a reel-to-reel four-track, therefore her tests with music experienced begun. Fok’s research focused on visible artwork and she graduated from Academy of Artwork in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA having a B.F.A. in illustration. As Cyrnai, Fok released albums, including Charred Blossoms (on Brain Matter in 1985), Object 3 (on Ladd-Frith in 1987), and Hypno-Seizure (individually released on cassette in 1987). She also documented with Trial on Occasions of Collapse for Tough Trade. In 1996, Fok released Transfiguration, an recording and book task that centered on dreams as well as the psyche, on Titanium Information. Her first single record as Carolyn Fok, the sprawling two-disc arranged The Listener, adopted on Titanium in 2001.
