Carmody

Carmody were an Italian minimal influx group who all formed in Torino in 1981. Regular of underground synthesizer-driven serves from that period, the group’s music mixed sparse, cold digital rhythms with vocals expressing emotions of longing and isolation. Originally a duo comprising Alberto Ramella and Andrea Lesmo (both previous associates of Teknospray), they extended to a trio by adding guitarist Potential Casacci. The music group only documented three demonstration tapes between 1981 and 1985 before disbanding; Lesmo afterwards joined Celtic rock and roll group LabGraal in the ’90s, while Casacci produced electronic rock and roll group Subsonica and set up a label and documenting studio known as Casasonica. In ’09 2009, German label Anna Logue Information released AN IMPROVED Spider, a Compact disc compilation from the group’s materials, and their first genuine release. Many Carmody tracks eventually made an appearance on ’80s brand-new influx/minimal synth compilations, and Mannequin released Rest on Mirrors: The 1981-1985 Tapes, the group’s initial vinyl discharge, in 2015.
