Carlton Showband

The Carlton Showband were formed in 1963 in Ontario, Canada, by several Irish-Canadians. Fred Light, Chris O’Toole, Christy McLaughlin, Seamus Grew and Sean McManus comprised the initial lineup, but Mike Feeney, Johnny Patterson and Bob Lewis became a member of immediately after. After two well-known singles for Quality Information (“The Merry Ploughboy” and “Up Went Nelson”), the Carlton Showband’s self-titled record made an appearance in 1966 on CASL Information. The following season, they truly became the houseband for Canadian CTV’s Pig and Whistle Display. They remained for a decade and released 13 albums for the reason that period: another self-titled LP in 1967, A Evening on the Pub (1967), The Carlton Showband on Tour (1968), The Carlton Showband on the Pig and Whistle (1969), Period Gentlemen Make sure you (1970), Carlton Showband Particular (1971), Carlton Nation (1972), IF YOU ARE Irish (Carlton Showband by Demand) (1973), Any Wish CAN DO (1975), Carlton Showband First Choice (1975), One through to the Globe (1976), Right here We Go Once again (1977) and 20 Gospel Favorites (1977), plus three ideal hits compilations. Following the present was terminated, Carlton Showband released Sixteen Many Requested (1978), CRISIS (1979), Back again to the Sod (1980), Three Guidelines to Heaven (1982), Reflections (1985), We Desire You a Merry Xmas (1986), Carlton Showband’s 25th Wedding anniversary (1988), Capture the Soul (1990), and 25 All-Time Favorites (1993). With lead vocalist Gregory Donaghey (who became a member of in 1974), the existing lineup contains Fred White colored, Roddie Lee, Robert Benoit, Larris Benoit and Aaron Lewis.
