Carlos Zingaro

Since the past due 1970s, violinist Carlos “Zingaro” Alves spent some time working with lots of the top improvisers and composers of his time. Given birth to in Portugal, Zingaro analyzed traditional music at his hometown of Lisbon’s Music Conservatory from age five, until 1965. The ’90s discovered Zingaro executing on many recordings including his regular collaborations with Richard Teitelbaum; documenting with bassist Joëlle Léandre for the In Situ and Musicworks brands; his use Peter Kowald Ort Outfit for FMP’s 1995 discharge, Cuts; and Traditional western Front side, his duo saving with Vancouver cellist Peggy Lee, that Hatology released in 1996.
