Portugal-born Carlos Martins can be an completed saxophonist. He works together with Orquestra Sons da Lusofonia and his personal quintet, carrying out at celebrations, concerts, and night clubs. He’s also a well known teacher at Escola de Jazz perform Hot Golf club de Portugal. Martins started his musical profession using the clarinet, carrying out using the Banda Filarmónica de Grândola. He analyzed music in the Country wide Conservatory in Lisbon. On the way he spent some time working with Expenses Goodwin, Ralph Peterson Jr., and John Stubblefield. Martins was also among the initial members of both Sexteto de Jazz of Lisboa as well as the Maria João’s Quintet. In 1995, Martins documented his debut recording, Passagem, around the ENJA Information label. Woman drummer Cindy Blackman shows up on the recording with him, alongside bassist Carlos Barretto and pianist Bernardo Sassetti. The quintet delighted jazz followers with songs like “Circular Trip” and “Advanced Woman.” Martins turned towards the NaDa label for his 1997 duo launch, Additional India, with Vasco Martins. Martins’ following recording, Always, presented his quintet.
