Carlo Krahmer

b. 11 March 1914, London, Britain, d. 20 Apr 1976, London, Britain. Blind from delivery, Krahmer trained himself to try out drums and in his early twenties became a specialist musician, playing 1st within an all-blind music group. Teaming up with George Shearing, the blind pianist, Krahmer produced his first information in 1939 and in the first 40s documented with Johnny Claes’ music group. Through the early 40s he was regularly noticed playing in London night clubs and he was also energetic as a instructor. In 1947/8 he created Esquire Information, a label that he also produced some records. Later on in his profession, Krahmer was mainly active like a documenting company professional, for Esquire, Delmark Information, among others, but continuing to sometimes play drums.
