Carl Espen

Norwegian singer/songwriter Carl Espen Thorbjørnsen — simply referred to as Carl Espen — represented his country on the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Located in the Traditional western Norwegian city Bergen, Espen inserted the nationwide competition Melodi Grand Prix in 2014 to execute on the Copenhagen competition, and advanced to the ultimate in Oslo, where he was ultimately chosen to represent the united states with the tune “Silent Surprise,” penned by his cousin. His stirring functionality at Eurovision gained him 8th place with 88 factors, shedding to eventual champion Conchita Wurst of Austria. “Silent Surprise” managed to get onto the singles graphs across Europe, like the U.K., Netherlands, Denmark, and Austria.
