Capris

Created in Queens, NY, USA, in 1958, this vocal quintet contains Nick Santamaria (lead vocals), Mike Mincelli (1st tenor), Vinny Nacardo (second tenor), Frank Reins (baritone) and John Apostol (bass). These were most widely known for the doo-wop ballad ‘There’s A Moon Out Tonight’, a US #3 3 one in early 1961. The melody was recorded with the Capris in 1958 and released on the tiny Planet Information label; however, it had been not a strike as well as the group disbanded.
