Capital Inicial

Capital Inicial is really a post-punk/new wave music group who had considerable success following saving seven albums between 1982 and 1996. Previous people of Renato Russo’s pioneering post-punk music group Aborto Unétrico teamed up to create the administrative centre Inicial, continuing to execute the same kind of music. Brothers Felipe Lemos (drums) and Flávio Lemos (bass) became a member of guitarist Loro Jones (previous Blitz 64) and vocalist Dinho Ouro Preto, most of them located in Brasília, a town that, as Brazil’s capital, revolves around politicians who abandon it around the weekends. The city’s coldness was a choice tradition for the fermentation from the aggression of dispossessed children, creating a perfect scenario for the inception of punk rings. With songs much like those in Aborto Unétrico’s repertory, the administrative centre Inicial followed within their footsteps. The very first time Capital (and their sister music group, Legião Urbana, also founded upon the ashes of Aborto Unétrico) performed in Rio was on July 23, 1983, starting a Lobão display in the Circo Voador. In 1984, they released their 1st solitary, “Descendo o Rio Nilo” b/w “Leve Desespero” (Epic), to reasonable acclaim. The second option song was contained in the film Areias Escaldantes. In Dec 1988, the group released their third LP, Você Não Precisa Entender, that was rift with commercialism. The record marketed just 50,000 copies. Knowing that they were shedding their punk rock and roll enthusiasts and weren’t attaining pop enthusiasts, their fourth record, Todos operating-system Lados (1990), discovered them replacing changed standardized keyboards with intense guitars.
