Cantata Sangui

Simply when you thought you’d seen everything…along comes Finland’s Cantata Sangui — much metal band without guitarists! “Heresy!” you screech, slamming shut the cover to your casket for emphasis, and even horror and disbelief look like the just reasonable replies until you are subjected to the amazingly effective, significantly overdriven, and reassuringly noisy six-string placebo propagated by five-stringer Tuomas Tunturituuli and four-stringer Juha Vilhunen (who changed longtime member Mika A.A. Hyytinen in 2008). Completed by business lead vocalist Anna Pienimäki, male vocalist Kari Husa, key pad/samples participant Hanna Sirola, and drummer Dark Bolton (who dresses just in blinding white, for comparison along with his ebony-attired bandmates), Cantata Sangui started taking shape as soon as 1998, but documented just demos over another 10 years because all included were generally active with other music group pursuits (specifically Enochian Crescent people Turituuli and Bolton). After that, in ’09 2009, the group finally forged a cope with Period of Mist Information and proceeded to record its nearly disconcertingly “different” debut record, On Rituals and Correspondence in Built Realities, offering an avant-garde combination of doom, gothic, dark, and progressive rock, made even more unique with the lack of guitars.
