Salsa bandleader/vocalist Cano Estremera (also called Light Estremera or “the Light One particular,” since he’s albino) was created Carlos Enrique Estremera Columbus on Sept 2, 1958, in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Estremera uncovered his like of music and performing as a young child, when he’d sing spiritual hymns in college, which eventually resulted in Estremera uniting with renowned bassist and trumpeter Bobby Valentin in 1978. The union between Estremera and Valentin lasted for six albums, before Estremera made a decision to give it a try by himself in 1984. Since that time, Estremera has released numerous single recordings, including such game titles as Salvaje ’88, Un Nino De Oro, Punto Y Aparte, and Dueno Del Soneo: Vol. 1, amongst others.
