Candlewyck

Candlewyck, an acoustic duo from Charlotte, NC, made up of Ty Bennett about acoustic guitar and Chris Emerson about mandolin, released their self-titled debut recording in Apr of 2001. Documented in a number of studios in Charlotte, the recording combined modern bluegrass designs with pop and jazz affects that display the curved musical history of its makers — Bennett, who includes a level in traditional structure and music theory, spent some time working carrying out jazz, gospel, rock and roll, and bluegrass and earned an ASC Designer Offer in 1999. Emerson’s exclusive mandolin style originates from his explorations of Celtic, jazz, traditional, and rock designs. A bunch of guest music artists also helped to make a fresh, exuberant audio on the debut, including Don Rigsby, John Cowan, Terry Baucom, and Michael Beliefs.
