Nation singer and songwriter Canaan Smith, given birth to August 24, 1982 in Williamsburg, Virginia, was raised singing along to everything he heard, from nation to alternative rock and roll, from George Strait to Trend Against the device, and something of this everyman range and vitality drives his best tunes. He relocated to Nashville during his university years and started to gig in the neighborhood bars and night clubs, eventually getting a publishing cope with Disney Music and a documenting agreement with Mercury.
