Brazilian experimental band Cabruêra emerged in 1999 in Natal, aka City of sunlight, with a variety of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, electrical funk, folk-rock, and Middle Eastern sounds, a forward thinking force behind the original regional music from north Brazil. After taking part in a live record alongside Elba Ramalho and Marinês, among various other artists, Cabruêra effectively joined up with the Brazilian Pro Rock and roll Festival 2000, accompanied by a Western european tour including Britain, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, as well as the worldwide release of the self-titled album.
