Byron Allen

Alto saxophonist Byron Allen didn’t produce a major effect on the ’60s free of charge picture, but made a single intriguing record for ESP in 1964, using the trio structure with bass and percussion. After an extended lack, he reappeared in 1979 with another trio discharge on the User interface label. His solos had been intense, searing and similar to early Ornette Coleman, though much less accomplished or unforgettable.
