Busted Hearts

Members from the Busted Hearts returned with their roots following a long hiatus of using rock & move music in smoky night clubs. Around 2001, vocalist and guitarist Keith Jackson, the nephew of Billy Power, who was an associate from the Foggy Hill Boys, contacted banjoist Bruce Cannole about beginning a normal bluegrass music group. They produced the Busted Hearts over the pretense of playing undiluted hill music. Jackson, a hardcore traditionalist, was raised in a family group of musicians and it has been hearing people sing and select the “true stuff” since he was a guy. Jackson and Cannole wished to catch the old-time audio of traditional bluegrass without having to be hokey about any of it, and proceeded to go searching for other musicians to generate the ideal mix of players. The Busted Hearts finished up opening several displays for Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Hill Children. In 2006, the group released Sin Sorrow & Salvation, their debut record on Fundamental Information.
