Burning Bridges

Musical influences from around the world are combined in to the sound of Southern California-based sextet Burning up Bridges. Based on Billboard, Burning up Bridges “…fuse many African guitar designs and minor key element Middle Eastern-isms with a difficult rocking, bluesy, attack.” Burning up Bridges was produced in 1985 by multi-instrumentalist Andrew Vereen (who acquired previously released an individual, Yayo/Globe in Movement,” as an associate of Images) on vocals, electric guitar, keyboards, mandolin, flute, accordion and percussion; Portugal-born and Japan-raised Marcus Fernandes on drums, percussion and vocals; and Don Tale (who spent 3 years in the centre East) on guitars, vocals and percussion. In Sept 1987, the group positioned initial in radio place 91 X’s Fight of California Originals. 2 yrs later, the music group lost the rock and roll wars to Poor Radio, an organization featuring upcoming Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder. Though it went through many personnel changes, Burning up Bridges settled right into a lineup that included an associate from the Yaqui tribe, Cynthia Antillon (vocals, percussion), Rick Nash (bass, percussion) and Mexico-born Robert Montoya (percussion and drums). The band’s debut one, “COMPLETELY NEW Eyesight, released in August 1986, was accompanied by the African-influenced dance melody “Yayo.” Launching EPs in Dec 1987 and Apr 1990, Burning up Bridges reissued both EPs being a self-titled Compact disc in 1994. The group’s debut record, From Benny’s Tiki Area and Ammo Dump, released in Oct 1992, was reissued over the German Hermann label. Burning up Bridge’s latest record, Feast of Fools, features 16 music that were mainly written within the documenting studio and it has been set alongside the Talking Minds and Santana.
