Burnett & Rutherford

Richard Burnett (vocals, guitar, banjo) and Leonard Rutherford (fiddle) were a well-known string band duo in southern central Kentucky within the 1920s and 1930s, plus they stayed energetic as performers in to the 1950s. They’re most widely known for the archaic-sounding ballad “Willie Moore,” that was included on Harry Smith’s Anthology of American Folk Music.
