Brougham

The rap-rock outfit Brougham was formed in Palo Alto, CA, by childhood friends Luke Oakson (aka Luke Ill) and Jason Slater (also of Snake River Conspiracy and a co-founder of Third Eyesight Blind). Oakson have been within a hip-hop clothing known as Sacred Hoop, and contacted Slater about creating a record on their behalf; instead, both started collaborating on brand-new materials. Slater and Oakson had written and recorded the majority of Brougham’s 2000 debut record, Le Dick Sportif, independently, but recruited many musicians to greatly help out in the studio room; a completely different touring lineup was constructed to back again Oakson soon after, as Slater elected to be on the street with Snake River Conspiracy.
