Brigeen Doran

The sister of Swiss drummer/percussionist Dave Doran, Brigeen Doran has generated her own legacy being a world-class jazz saxophone player, while she’s collaborated with her brother in a number of top-notch jazz groups. Their initial band, KIOL, produced with guitarist Heinz Affolter, pianist Raoul Walton, and American-born bassist Fernando Saunders, documented two amazing albums — Consider It On in 1979 and SUNSHINEY DAY the following calendar year. Brigeen and Dave Doran toured East Germany alongside Tag Koch and Fredy Miller in Doran, Make & Miller in 1986, and in the first ’90s produced the Doran Music group with another sibling, Christy, on electric guitar and Fredy Miller on drums and percussion. Using the Doran Music group, they toured THE UNITED STATES in 1991, executing in such night clubs because the Middle East in Cambridge, MA, as well as the Knitting Manufacturer in NY. Doran in addition has worked inside a bass and drum duo, distributed to Saunders, that combines Irish and American affects. They offered as opening work for Billy Cobham’s 1983 Cup Menagerie tour. Doran’s debut single album, Bright Occasions, premiered in 1993.
