Crafting experimental soundscapes that bridge experimental rock and roll, avant-garde chamber music, indie digital, and arty folk, Briana Marela’s melody compositions explore rhythm, dynamics, and form furthermore to timbre and build, with electronic devices, acoustic instruments, results, and found stuff. Seattle-born Marela started composing music in middle college, and took electric guitar lessons as a teenager to provide her music an electric outlet. After acquiring music technology classes while at university in Olympia, Washington, she begun to experiment with hold off, looping, and development. She self-produced and self-released the avant-garde, mainly instrumental full-length record Water Sea Lake in middle-2010 as well as the even more song-oriented, Bob Schwenkler co-produced Speak from your own Heart in springtime 2012. Her squarely ambient pop label debut, ALL OVER, was documented in Reykjavik with maker Alex Somers (Jónsi, Sigur Rós) and came on Jagjaguwar in August 2015.
