Brian Melvin

A good straight-ahead drummer, Brian Melvin could be perhaps most obviously for leading a trio day with pianist Jon Davis that might be electric powered bassist Jaco Pastorius’ final saving, Standards Zone within the Global Pacific label. Melvin was initially launched to jazz when he noticed the Buddy High big music group. When he was eight, Melvin received a snare drum and a cymbal for Xmas. He created quickly and by enough time he started senior high school, he was playing at young golf club dances and jamming frequently with rock organizations. Developing up in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, Melvin had possibilities to see lots of the best jazz drummers at Keystone Korner and with time he became a high freelance drummer in the town. He also spent intervals surviving in Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and NY (where he led the home band on the Blue Take note for eight a few months). Brian Melvin’s encounters include using Archie Shepp, Dave Kikoski, and Mike Stern, amongst others; recording thoroughly while in European countries; and leading pieces for Timeless and Global Pacific.
