Brian Brown

Tenor, soprano sax, bandleader. A self-taught participant who surfaced in the ’50s as a respected shape in Australia and continued to be prominent through the ’80s. Dark brown was among first Australian music artists to develop popularity for extremely personal, individualistic design that was extreme, lyrical rather than simple imitation of the American great. He shaped his first music group in 1956, after that produced eight albums over an 18-season period heading different groups. Dark brown toured Europe along with his Australian Jazz Outfit in 1978, and in addition led groups carrying out experimental and first classical parts from ’80 – ’86. He set up a jazz training course in 1981 on the Victorian University from the Arts.
