California duo Mike Brewer and Tom Shipley began their professions separately in the 1960s LA folk membership circuit before teaming up to create and perform together. Their tune “Keeper from the Seven Tips” was documented by H.P. Lovecraft and in addition appeared on the 1968 debut, Down in L.A. Their second record, Weeds, featured visitor performances by Jerry Garcia, Mike Bloomfield, and Nicky Hopkins. In 1971, the duo have scored a surprise TOP strike with “One Toke Within the Series,” regardless of radio bans due to the song’s marijuana-oriented lyrics. Third , achievement, Brewer and Shipley transferred to rural Missouri, but their charm dwindled, as well as the relationship was dissolved in 1979. Brewer documented the solo record Beauty Is based on 1983. On the request of the Kansas Town radio place, Brewer & Shipley reunited for the concert in 1989 and started touring sometimes. In 1995, the duo released their initial album in nearly twenty years, Shanghai. Heartland implemented two years afterwards.
