Country music group Brent Amaker as well as the Rodeo were shaped by veterans from the Seattle, WA, music picture, a few of them rock and roll musicians initially, comprising indigenous Oklahoman Amaker about vocals and acoustic guitar, Tim Harmon about lead guitar, Sugars McGuinn about bass, and Curtis Andreen about drums, with guitarist Louis O’Callahan joining later on. (O’Callahan was changed consequently by Mason Lowe.) Intentionally retro within their strategy, the group started by saving two monophonic 7,” 45 rpm vinyl fabric singles, “They Make Cowboys in Montana” and “This is actually the Weapon.” They documented their self-titled debut recording in mono on the four-track reel-to-reel tape deck. Primarily, they offered it at gigs in 2006; it had been released nationally by J-Shirt Information on Feb 20, 2007. Gravewax released Amaker as well as the Rodeo’s second recording, Howdy Perform!, on November 18, 2008.
